Creating Folders
To create a new shared folder:
- Click on the folder icon in the right
- Choose new folder & create title and color for folder:
- Enter the name or email address of the person you'd like to invite to the folder. If they are not already a Quip user, they will receive an email inviting them to join
Creating a Group Folder
Group folders are great for companies and business teams that would like to easily share documents and collaborate with their colleagues. Group folders are currently a feature of Quip Business -- please email sales@quip.com to get in touch with a Quip representative to turn on Quip Business features for your team.
As an administrator of a Quip Business account, you can create new group folders through the Quip business portal. From the Quip business portal homepage, create a new group folder by choosing Create Team under the Administrator menu
Can I view Folders in a Tree View?
Yep! The toggle to switch between List View and Grid View for your Quip desktop or any Quip folder can be found in top of the window.
This setting selection will remain on whichever option you have toggled it to when you return to the folder or your Quip desktop.
What is the Private Folder?
The Private Folder is your dedicated space within Quip. Any documents you create there will be private to you until you explicitly add individuals to the document.
Unlike other folders in Quip, you are the only member of this folder. However, documents within this folder can be shared with individuals.
If you choose to share a folder within the private folder with others, it will be moved to your Shared Folders view, visible from All Documents in the sidebar.
