Free Quip Starter FAQs

Quip Starter has been helping teams collaborate and get work done while working from home, with documents, spreadsheets, and chat that break down information silos and fuel a culture of action.

Free Quip Starter licenses are valid until September 30 and participating sites will move to read-only on October 1, 2020.

Please read below for frequently asked questions about the upcoming changes.

Q: Will I be able to access my documents and spreadsheets after September 30?
After September 30th, you will only be able to view a read-only version of all documents and spreadsheets that you have created and contributed to in Quip. You will have the ability to download and export your documents and spreadsheets, but will not be able to edit any content.

Q: How do I export my documents and spreadsheets in Quip?

Q: Will I be able to export my documents and spreadsheets after September 30?
You will be able to export your documents and spreadsheets for a period of two months after September 30, after which your site data will be deleted.

If you would like to retain your data beyond that point, you can do so by purchasing either Quip Starter, Quip Enterprise, or Quip for Customer 360. To learn more, speak to a Quip Specialist today.

Q: Does each user need to export their documents or can one person export all for an organization?
For Quip Starter, exporting functionality is available at the individual end user level, not at the site-wide level. Individual users will be able to export any documents and spreadsheets that they have access to for at least two months after September 30.

Q: How can I continue collaborating in Quip after September 30?
You can continue editing and collaborating in Quip by purchasing either Quip Starter, Quip Enterprise, or Quip for Customer 360. To learn more, speak to a Quip Specialist today.
